Fees and Expenses – how we are remunerated

Aegis Advisory does not charge fees for any financial advice provided to clients. Instead, we are generally remunerated by upfront commissions paid by the providers whose products we recommend and arrange for you. These commissions can vary and are based on the amount of premium or KiwiSaver balance.

Aegis Advisory and our financial advisors also receive ongoing ‘trail’ commissions from the providers we work with based on the amount of premium or KiwiSaver balance.

Aegis Advisory may also refer business such as commercial and mortgages. We receive referral commissions for this, of which will be disclosed to you at the time of referral.

From time to time, providers may also reward us in recognition for the business placed with them by gifting in ways of social events, hampers, or other incentives.

All commissions are confirmed to you in writing when business is being placed.

Conflicts of Interest – prioritising your interests

Aegis Advisory takes steps to ensure that our financial advisors prioritise our clients’ interests and need above their own, we follow an advice process that ensures our recommendations are made on the basis of each client’s goals and circumstances.

All our financial advisors attend annual training about how to manage conflicts of interest. Aegis Advisory also performs an annual review of our compliance programme along with an annual compliance audit of advice given.

Aegis Advisory and our financial advisors follow a six-step advice process that puts our clients’ needs as the core focus of our advice process. Should our advice involve replacement of product(s), we will compare the product(s) and explain the differences in detail before proceeding with implementation of new business.
